The Forest County Potawatomi Insurance Department (FCPID) was established in 1999 in response to the need for a Third Party Administrator (TPA) that was receptive to our needs as a Tribal Nation; to recognize our Sovereignty and need for our unique plan design and funding needs.
FCPID is located on the Forest County Potawatomi Community reservation in Crandon (Stone Lake), Wisconsin.
History of the Forest County Potawatomi Insurance Department
In 2002 FCPID began processing our own claims in-house for our Tribal member health plan. By June of 2003 we had expanded to the administration of all FCPC health plans including the employee plans for all Tribal entities.
In 2008, we began providing benefits administration services to other Tribal nations.
Today we provide ‘tribal health program solutions’ to more than 40 Tribal nations. The services provided includes:
- Employee health plan administration
- Contract Health Services/Purchased Referred Care administration for health clinics
- Medicare Like Rates re-pricing
- Section 506 recovery
- Third party billing
- Custom plan designs, consulting and training
All technology systems used to provide health program solutions are HIPAA compliant along with our physical setting. All staff members are HIPAA certified. FCPID staff maintains Error and Omissions coverage and is fidelity bonded.
FCPID has provided data to stop loss carriers to assist them with understanding the impact of Medicare-like Rates on the plan experience and hence has been able to maintain access to multiple stop loss markets.
